So, that’s a little bit about why I chose this path! Otherwise, I’m an Arizonan (bear down!) who followed her heart to Denver. I’m married to my perfect match and we live downtown, have a crazy little Havanese pup, and our favorite hobby, it seems, is food and wine – we love checking out all of the great restaurants in the city. I also like to cook, love to read, enjoy yoga and a good hike, and I’ll always be a hospitality junkie.

My name is Kendal, owner of Young & Heart. I specialize in wedding coordination, but you've probably gathered that by now!
Before I decided to take this plunge I spent a decade in the hospitality industry, getting to know the ins and outs of all things hotel, events and catering. I officially started my journey with Loews Hotels & Resorts in Tucson, AZ where I worked at the Front Desk, and I ended that journey, so to speak, as Director of Catering at Kimpton Hotel Born in Denver, CO. Somewhere along the way I dabbled in wedding coordination as a little hobby of mine on evenings and weekends. It started with a good friend whose venue required a coordinator, and she wasn’t quite sure where to turn. It was something I had always wanted to try, and she allowed me the opportunity to do just that. She referred me to a coworker, who referred me to a friend… and before you know it I had joined up with two other fabulous ladies, and we created a fledgling business. However, it wasn’t meant to be that time around. We let our vision fizzle, but not before orchestrating quite a few beautiful weddings in under one year (with full time jobs) and learning a heck of a lot along the way. The seed had been planted.
Fast forward to February of 2018, and I decided to pursue it again! Weddings aren't my full time gig -- more like a passion project that I like to pepper in to my life for the right couples at the right time -- but what can I say? I love love. I find helping couples tie the knot so rewarding and special.
